About The School

Nazareth Residential School (NRS) is a vibrant coeducational English medium school facility for students from Class IV to Senior Secondary Level. In partnership with families, we seek to develop young people who reflect the attitudes of Christ.

It was established in the year 1993 by Director Hepuni Kayina and his wife Dr.Lalzawmliani. The vision that birthed the school is the only valid reason for its existence and also its continuation, which is why parents and their wards must understand this ethos as the reason why admission is sought. The school is affiliated to Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) New Delhi.

Education at NAZARETH

A Christian worldview is threaded throughout the curriculum at Nazareth Residential School, giving students the opportunity to understand the character of God, His world and their role in it. Our teachers also emphasize mutual respect, cooperative learning and promote a positive self-image. The learning experiences are to inspire and motivate young minds and bodies. It also provides academic rigor, maintains a culture of educational excellence, nurture and care needed to meet the challenges of students’ transition from childhood, through adolescence and into adulthood.

The Vision and Aims:

From its very inception the school has nurtured the following vision, “to disciple and discipline young lives in righteousness and scholastic excellence, that they may obtain harmony with God and with man. And the perfect model to imitate is Jesus Christ who grew up in Nazareth in…”……“Wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man.”Learning must perfect this harmony.

High expectations of our students accrue, as we seek to:
- Provide a strong Biblically based academic environment.
- Pursue excellence in education.
- Develop each child’s unique gifts and abilities.
- In still a life-long love of learning.

School Motto:

The school motto, “Learn to do right”, aptly enshrines this vision and serves as the conscience and judge in relation to his/her behavior and studies when ever he/she asks, “Is this ethical?” or “Is this matter of fact?”.We believe these questions are vital to life – training. The use of knowledge must be guided by ethical values.

Realization of the vision:

To realize the vision, the school seriously devotes time and person to teach the relevant fear of God and the sacredness of faithfulness to duty. We believe in personal integrity being basic to the healthy development of the full person. A boy/girl must first be truthful to be not just a student but a good student. It is therefore the privilege of the school to intervene in the personal life of a student to pre-empt moral turpitude by teaching sound ethics that will promote goodwill, harmony and fruitfulness.

Choice of CBSE:

The Central Board of Secondary Education, Delhi is a national board offering international curriculum. The academic standard is very competitive and widely acceptable. The school therefore prepares its students for the All India Senior Secondary Examination (AISSE - Class X) and All India Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (AISSCE - Class XII) of CBSE.

So in short we expect every student who is admitted to the school to make it a personal matter to give serious disposition to God and to studies to effect the metamorphosis of becoming a complete and mature person.
